Kingsport Area Seniors Council
Our mission is to provide information and opportunities for senior citizens to develop the quality of like they desire. We serve as a network for seniors and for the organizations and agencies that impact their lives, including:
- U.S. Social Security Administration
- Kingsport Area Senior Center
- First TN Area Agency on Aging
- Wellmont Health System
- Indian Path Medical Center
- Kingsport Area Transit System
- Kingsport Housing & Redevelopment Authority
- Assisted living organizations
- Interested seniors
The Council is a team working in partnership with Kingsport Tomorrow. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m. in Room 239 of the Kingsport Renaissance Center (1200 E. Center Street). Enclosed is information describing the areas of interest that are addressed by our Council. We request annual membership contributions of $25 for an organization (which may have several individuals participating as Council members) and $10 for an individual. Although these contributions are voluntary, they are very important in providing seed money for our efforts and in allowing us to leverage matching dollars from other sources.
Each member of the Council is asked to serve on a sub-team in the area of greatest interest to that person. Currently, teams are working in the areas of Health, Housing, and Social Services.

Our Vision: To be a community that fosters and encourages involvement, activities, and services by and for seniors.
Our Mission: To provide information and promote opportunnities for seniors to pursue the quality of life they desire.
Our Goals:
- To promote Kingsport as a model community for seniors
- To encourage communication between agencies, organizations, government, and the public
- To identify and establish opportunities for growth, development, and involvement of all seniors in the greater Kingsport area
- To advocate that the Kingsport Senior Center be the comprehensive focal point for seniors
- To advocate and influence policies on issues affecting seniors
Mission of Our Executive Committee: To facilitate and omplement both the vision and the mission of the Kingsport Area Senior Council
Goals of out Executive Committee
- To coordinate the work of the Kingsport Area Senior Council through team leaders and members to accomplish our desired goals
- To coordinate with local governmental representatives on behalf of seniors
- To provide guidence to projects and endeavors identified by the Council
- To encourage communication between the Kingsport Area Senior Council and residents of the community
- To develop opportunities for seniors to contribute and participate in community resources of the greater Kingsport Area
