Lynn Garden Community Caring

Community Meetings result in goals and initiatives

Lynn Garden residents and community leaders have begun their work to strenghten and improve the neighborhood as a gateway to Kingsport, Sullivan County and Tennessee.

At the first community meeting held on June 24, 2003, members of the Lynn Garden community shared ideas and voted for priorities for ways to strengthen the neighborhood and utilize the Lynn View school facilities.

A second community meeting was held on Aug. 7, 2003, where action plans and resources were suggested for each of the five goals identified through the first meeting. Volunteers were also encouraged to join project teams to work to achieve the goals and action plans developed.

Work has already begun, through a community cleanup project held on Saturday, Aug. 9. 20 volunteers reported for duty to clean streets, athletic fields and school property, with help from Keep Kingsport Beautiful, City of Kingsport and Sullivan County Environmental Services.

More work is planned, but volunteers are needed! Click here to find out how you can help.

Our Mission

To work together to build a proud and caring community, today and for the future.

Our Vision

Lynn Garden is an attractive gateway to our city, county, region, and state, attracting families, businesses, and visitors to our neighborhood and community.

Our Goals

We will demonstrate our responsibility and price with homes, businesses, streets, and public areas that are neat and attractive.

We will invest in economic opportunity for all, supporting local business and nurturing a skilled workforce with quality jobs.

We will build strong minds, healthy bodies, and positive relationships through programs and facilities for recreation, social, and cultural activities.

We will live safe and crime-free, working with law enforcement and public safety officals for the common good.

We will encourage and help our neighbors of all ages and backgrounds to reach our highest potential.
